THE
ADIRONDACK SEASONS
COLLECTION
I
weave several types of rugs. All of them are equally at home on the
floor or on the wall. My plain-weave rugs are woven with handspun,
naturally dyed yarns that are inspired by the different.
Adirondack
seasons. Because of the
nature of natural dyes, the dyepot always yields different colors,
making each rug unique.

THE
WILD & WOOLLY COLLECTION
These
thick, textural rugs are woven with unspun locks of our Lincoln Longwool
sheep.
This breed of sheep is known for their long, lustrous locks of
wool.
These rugs are woven with a combination of natural colored
wool and wool that has been dyed with natural dyes.

THE
TAPESTRY COLLECTION
Tapestry
is my favorite weave structure. Most
other weaves depend on the loom threading to make patterns and textures.
In tapestry weave, the weaver lays in each different color of
yarn used in a design. So in one row of weaving she may lay in upward of
12 different yarns. Although
time consuming, it gives the weaver complete control of the design.
The
following work all uses handspun
Lincoln
wool dyed with natural dye
extracts which include indigo, madder root, cochineal and cutch among
others. These dyes have been
used since antiquity for their incredibly deep and vibrant colors.
